Tour de Europe! (7/6 - 8/6)

This June, it's an exciting month for me as I've gone to Europe for the Festival of Songs choral competition, held at Olomouc, Czech Republic. I know, I know... the only place in Czech that you heard of is Prague, right? Well, Olomouc is a rather tiny town, but it's definitely not forgettable, as we shall see in the next few posts.

We left Changi at 3am on 7/6 and had to transit at Dubai airport, which was quite an eye-opener coz I have never imagined an Arab country would be this advanced (no offence). 3 hours later, it's off to Vienna!

Since there's no international airport near Olomouc, we had to take a 4-hr bus ride from the airport to Olomouc. The jet lag caught up with us soon after we'd boarded the bus. But what a view to miss! Look at the photos I took along the way and you'd think that I just bought postcards and scanned them!

We arrived at Olomouc in the evening and checked in to Hotel Sigma, a tiny little hotel with 2 elevators that you must never, never overload. How do I know? I found out the hard way when 8 of us took the elevator down and got stuck in the basement! Talk about a good head start for our first day in Europe!

Dubai airport is a freaking alien mother ship, man... Posted by Picasa

The belly of the mother ship is a shopping mall, in order to make humans forget time... Posted by Picasa

They try to create an earth-like habitat on the mother ship, but I ain't getting fooled... Posted by Picasa
