The trip Home (Part 4): Sydney, Australia

Happy New Year to everyone! We had come to our last day in Sydney, and would be flying off to Melbourne the next day. But before that, we can't leave without even checking the rich marine life of Australia, right? So we're off to the Sydney Aquarium. Took a detour into the Queen Victoria Building. I like that place for the fact that it's an old building, and yet it houses a modern shopping mall and still looks good.

Queen Victoria Building. It's a shopping mall. Check out the multi-storey Xmas tree in the background! Posted by Hello

We took the train to town hall (no coach for that day), then walked all the way to the Darling Harbour area to the aquarium. Very, very HUGE aquarium, it is. I took quite a number of photos of the strange creatures there. ("strange" may include myself...:P)

Sydney Aquarium. Quite cool. The whole place is like a giant platform on the sea. Posted by Hello

Now, who can say, "long tortoise head" in Chinese? :P Posted by Hello

Yummy... oops, was thinking what a fine dish this head would be... :P Posted by Hello

Looks equally scary to me... Posted by Hello

After lunch at the aquarium. It time to take one last, hard look at Sydney, tourist style. We went to the Sydney Tower. They got a hologram show and a motion-master (moving seats) show there showing the different geography around Australia. The look from the top of the tower was awesome! Now that's what I call a city...

... you see me! Posted by Hello

After the view from the tower, my family and some other tourists decided to take a walk in Hyde Park and St. Mary's Church we saw just now. A quick visit to the loo turned up something rather interesting...

We were just loitering around until we bumped into the Australian Museum. Since we still got 30 mins before it closes, we figured we'd just sneak a peek, and it's free! Shame to all the museums that charge entrance fees... We didn't have time to see everyting, but what we saw was impressive, particularly an exhibition with nothing but skeletons from virtually every animal with bones. Good stuff. Check out the marvelous display below.

This seal is actually sculpted usind driftwood. Amazing! Posted by Hello

Took the train back to the hotel and decided we'd just stay indoor that night for the very early departure the next morning. Saw this ad at the train station. Hmm... I wonder...

I have no idea what Bolle is, but this ad is just interesting. :P Posted by Hello

The trip in Sydney has come to a conclusion. Next part: Melbourne, where my life took the largest turn yet! (Mind the slow update, now that the new school year has started...)
