Love is in the air...

I'm updating my blog, so you might guess 2 things: 1) It's a holiday, or 2) I don't feel like working today. Well, you got 2 things right there. :P

February 14th. Valentine's Day. I used to spend this day every year, watching how people fork out their hard-earned money to the grinning florists. Long queues in front of restaurants. Siamese twins everywhere. I used to think it's a stupid day, and I enjoyed making fun of them. Well, this year is gonna be different. VERY different.

I was in Malaysia during the CNY holidays. On the 13th, I arrive in S'pore in the early morning, after a long and arduous train journey. But all that was swept away when I saw my dear after being 4 days away from her. Whenever I'm around her, I know for sure that my worries meant nothing. That's the magic of LOVE, I guess...

After church service and lunch, I went home to unpack my stuffs, while she went off to meet her friends. The main event's at night, so I better rest well and look absolutely 'tasty' for dinner. :P I bought some new threads in Malaysia without her knowing, so hopefully that'd surprise her. Can't wait for the night.

Night arrives, and I went to her place to pick her up (as should any Gentleman). I brought some Mandarin oranges for her family, since it's still CNY, and it helps in building rapport with my future in-laws. ;) My dear just reached home and had to take a bath, and since I can't help her with that, I just sat around with her mom. She was so kind, she even offered me soup and tea while I was waiting. When my dear was ready to leave, she took a bag along with my present ('Allegedly' at that moment), and her mom actually gave me some Mandarin oranges in return! Humorous in-laws... I'm looking forward to the future already! As we took the lift down, I stole a kiss from her. I guess our night started early for us... :)

We made our way to Black Angus at One Fullerton, where I had reserved a table by the bay about a month ago. On our way there, we saw the usual "girls with flower basket". She was fairly amused by people who actually buy from them. Hmm... if only she knew what's coming her way... :P

The evening faded the sun away, and the lights glittered along the river. The breeze ran through her hair like my fingers, and the remaining light of the sun shimmers on her face. Such beauty could only be rivalled with itself, for there is simply none other as fair. We placed our orders, and you may drool all over these delicious photos!

"Ring......" My phone rang, and it's a private call, so I excused myself from the table, with my dear looking slightly puzzled. A few minutes later, I returned to the table, and tapped her shoulder from the back. She turned around, and was greeted by a bouquet of red roses with Ferrero Rocher! Oh, the look in her eyes... simply priceless! :) I'm sure my slight mischievious act had been forgiven... :P

After the wonderful dinner, we took a walk along the bay. The enchanting night lights were amazing, as we held hands and simply soaked in the moment. We found a spot near the bridge and sat there. We huddled together for, like, eons, enjoying each other's warmth and company. We enchanged gifts there. She gave me a new bag, coz she knows that I always carry a heavy bag and my old bag doesn't have a shoulder pad. So thoughtful of her! She also gave me a visor, a souvenir from the Australian Open. :)

As for me? My mind don't normally think about practicality, so I just think romantically. I asked her to close her eyes, and showed it to her: an opal pendant that shaped like a treble clef. Sparks were flying, and the moment was magical. It would have been perfect, if the pendant's chain wasn't entagled and I could put it around her neck myself. Ah well, I guess that's another unforgettable event in our lives together, eh? :P

Lovely night view! Posted by Hello

As you can see from the photos above, the very reason we stayed there for such a long time, before we decided to take a cab back before midnight. I sent her home first, and she rewarded me with another kiss, and an appreciative smile. I knew she enjoyed the night, coz I enjoyed myself tremendously too!

V-day, in my humble opinion, is no longer a stupid day. It's a very, VERY lovely day! The only problem is: if we are having a romantic time everyday, what's so special about V-day anymore? :P :P :P

Hrmsies. Does V-day only have to occur once a year? ;)

It's not so much about the expense you go to, but how you cherish your time together, no? :)

Every day that I spend face-to-face with my love is like Valentine's day to me, especially since we're in a LDR, like you and your honey are (still?). It's prolly because we have to spend to much time apart that I've come to treasure our together time so much more. (Talk about mushy. I think I'm giving myself goosebumps too!)

Ah well. Enough jabber. Nice to know that you've been getting along marvellously; it's been ages since the last shisha outing.

Salut! :D
